Unlocking the power of sleep – my best read.

If you’ve ever wondered why some people seem to bounce out of bed while you drag yourself through the morning fog, or if you’re tired of feeling tired, you’re in the right place.

Let me introduce you to two of my favorite books on sleep. In fact, I have read many more books on sleep than these two, but I have to be honest. Matthew Walker’s “Why We Sleep” is all you really need to read and know about sleep, in my opinion, the best book written on the subject, and if you want a different approach and embrace performance enhancement from a more structured way at looking at how we sleep, Nick Littlehale’s book is an absolute eye opener.

You don’t need to be a sleep scientist to understand and implement the proven techniques from these books – just someone ready to transform their relationship with sleep.

Why Quality Sleep Is Non-Negotiable.

Know that sleep isn’t being lazy or just a daily timeout – it’s perhaps the most powerful performance enhancer and health booster available to us. During those precious hours of slumber, our brain is anything but idle. It’s busy cleaning out toxic proteins (like those linked to Alzheimer’s), consolidating memories from our day, and rewiring neural pathways to help us learn new skills.

Poor sleep doesn’t just leave you groggy; it compromises your immune system, throws your hunger hormones out of whack, and your emotional resilience takes a hit if you get out of bed in the morning after a poor night of sleep.

The good news is you can easily educate yourself and become a master of your sleep, and a simple and easy way to do this is by picking up these books and getting comfortable reading and leveling up your knowledge.

Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams by Matthew Walker

My absolute favorite book on sleep. Matthew explores why we sleep, and how and what happens if sleep is absent. Sleep helps you with vital functions, and your ability to learn, memorize, and make logical decisions. It recalibrates your emotions and improves your immune system. This book provides an exploration of sleep, examining how it affects every aspect of your physical and mental well-being.
